Delicious Learning at SES: Pre-K students in Mrs. Angela and Mrs. Jackson's class made learning fun and delicious by creating edible rainbows! Through the activity, students practiced matching colors and developed their fine motor skills through careful placement of fruit loops.

LEAP FEST AT CES: Prior to Spring Break, students at Clinton Elementary School were rewarded for their hard work with a LEAP Fest! They enjoyed a bouncy house, face painting, volleyball, kickball, musical chairs, food and more.

For many decades, scientists have investigated the beaks of finches to better understand gene variation and how species form and diversify. Students at EFEA joined this cadre of scientists by conducting their own simulation of how different types of finch beaks function.

Spoonfuls of Fun! Students at SES had plenty of spring fun in their PE classes before Spring Break! They participated in an egg & spoon relay race, a bunny ear ring toss, and a bunny bean bag toss. Through these activities, students developed team building & coordination skills.

Building Community Partnerships at EFHS: The Alexander Stirling Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution offered new teachers in East Feliciana Public Schools the opportunity to apply for a mini-grant for supplies and materials to support student learning in their classroom. The East Feliciana Public Schools Exceptional Student Services Department hosted their annual Transition Open House on March 28, 2023 at East Feliciana High School. Students, parents, and community members attended the event aimed at connecting families to self-advocacy, independent living, employment opportunities, and other supports. Agencies and providers talked one-on-one with parents and students seeking options to help students transition into careers and life after graduation. The goal of the Transition Open House was to make sure parents in East Feliciana Public Schools have every opportunity to be informed and advocate for their child and to empower students for self-advocacy. The ESS Department thanks all the providers and agencies that attended this event and helped our students be a step closer to transition! Participants included Baton Rouge Community College, Acadian Ambulance, Capital Area Developmental Disabilities, Families Helping Families, Educational Talent Search Program of Southern University and A&M College, Dixon Correction Institute, Upward Bound Program of Baton Rouge Community College and Southern University, Pelican State Credit Union, Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System, and Louisiana National Guard Youth Challenge Program.
