We are excited to welcome everyone to the EFHS football regular season opener this Friday at 7:00 PM at the newly renovated stadium on the campus of East Feliciana High School in Jackson. "BEAR"ING DOWN ON COUNTING AT SES: Mrs. Leger’s kindergarten class at Slaughter Elementary School had fun playing a counting game with partners. Students took turns moving bears down the path to the bee hive.

CURRICULUM COUNTS IN EAST FELICIANA PUBLIC SCHOOLS: This year, our goal is for teachers to implement their high-quality curriculum in a way that provides all students
with meaningful practice opportunities at the mastery level. Teachers and students across all of our schools are already hard at work completing lessons so they can stay on track to mastering all standards this year! Slaughter Elementary School first graders are using the new Eureka Math Squared talking tool poster to model critical thinking in class!

SOLAR POWER AT CLINTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: CES students used solar energy to power motors during science class!

EDUCATOR SPOTLIGHT: Congratulations to East Feliciana High School teacher Ashley Ferguson, who has received a scholarship from the Louisiana Jump$tart Coalition to attend the Jump$tart National Educator Conference this November in Louisville! The goal of this conference is to expand the actionable impact of effective financial education in the classroom. Ms. Ferguson also encourages you to visit Pelican State Credit Union to get your very own East Feliciana High School School Pride debit card - each swipe on the card earns 5 cents for EFHS!

We are introducing kiwi as a new fruit option in our meal services this week! Served today alongside our new chicken and waffles lunch entree, this delicious and nutritious fruit will be available daily at both breakfast and lunch, providing our students with even more variety and healthy choices. We encourage you to help your child learn more about this unique fruit and its benefits.

Today, the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education recognized East Feliciana Public Schools bus driver Leo Brown as a Louisiana Outstanding School Support Employee Finalist & Slaughter Elementary School as a recipient of the Louisiana School Physical Activity Award!

Thank you to all of our students, staff, families, and community partners who helped make our first week a success! We know that by working together with shared grace, we will take #HomegrownPride to new heights during the 2024-2025 school year!

Every day, our employees work with intention to achieve the vision of our community for our public schools. At our Back to School Convocation last week, we recognized our Teachers of the Year who lead the way in identifying and meeting the comprehensive needs of each student and embracing innovation in meeting those needs.

We believe that providing students with fresh, nutritious options is key to supporting their health and academic performance. We're pleased to share that we’ve introduced meal choices at the high school level and a fresh fruit choice for students at all of our schools. These efforts are part of our commitment to enhancing the dining experience for all students! This is new for us, so we ask for your grace as we transition to these fresh meal options for students. Hats off to our dynamic Child Nutrition Program team for making our first few days of school nutritious and delicious!

In East Feliciana Public Schools, we are committed to building a diverse and effective team. Last week at our Convocation, we celebrated individuals who have been an essential part of our team and are now entering a new season in their lives. With gratitude for their years of dedicated service, we would like to recognize those individuals who have retired from East Feliciana Public Schools!
