Students in Ms. Aspen Jenkins’ math class at Clinton Elementary School and Ms. Melanie Williams' math class at Jackson Elementary School have been hard at work growing their math skills using the Zearn math curriculum. Last week, Clinton Elementary School hosted a special "Mastery Plus" luncheon for all students who scored at Mastery and above on at least one of their LEAP 2025 state tests in Spring 2022. The rate at which students at CES scored Mastery and above increased by 5% overall and by 11% in English language arts, contributing to East Feliciana Public Schools being the top growing district statewide for students scoring Mastery and above. Scores of Mastery and above reflect full readiness for the next grade level of study. Students participating in the luncheon included fifth graders Cayden, Jamiah, Collin, Ty’shawn, and Paris and fourth graders Richie, Jardon, Ka’ryah, Dezaryia, Cameron, and Robert.

Fifth grader Jamiah Dunn earned Mastery marks in English language arts, mathematics, and science. Fifth grader Paris Self earned Mastery or above in all subject areas, including a mark of Advanced in English language arts.
Fifth grader Collin Floyd earned the highest level possible, an Advanced, in English language arts. He also earned a Mastery in science and social studies.
Fourth grader Dezaryia McClain earned Mastery marks in English language arts and mathematics.
Fourth graders Robert Signater and Richie Coleman each earned a score of Mastery or above in English language arts and mathematics, with Signater scoring at an Advanced level in English language arts.

Celebration details are provided in the chart below. In order for your child to participate in the weekly celebrations, he or she must be present to school at least 80% of the respective week. The school with the overall best attendance during the month of September will receive a special Attendance Celebration on Friday, October 7, 2022. Spotlight on Track and Field: East Feliciana High School students Herman Batiste, Quen'Braylon Dunn, and Antoine Johnson recently competed in the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Greensboro, North Carolina. Herman finished 2nd place in the country for all 17-18 year olds in the high jump with a jump of 6 feet, 8.75 inches. Congratulations to these Tigers and their coach, Mr. Alonzo Jones!
