As part of the district's strategic plan, East Feliciana Public Schools prioritize providing advanced and individualized opportunities for students. As a result, graduation rates at East Feliciana High School exceed the state average. In order to ensure that students graduate ready for college, career, or service, East Feliciana High School partners with a variety of postsecondary institutions including Southern University, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge Community College, and Northshore Technical College to offer courses ranging from a variety of college-level courses to welding, automotive, CNA, and culinary arts. East Feliciana Public Schools committed to expanding the opportunity for students to graduate EFHS with advanced credentials in their pathway of choice.

As part of the East Feliciana STEAM Academy's problem-based learning focus, students have started to manage the daily care of the school's aquaponics system. Starting in the second semester, they will be incorporating plant life into their ecosystem.

Prior to the holiday, Clinton Elementary students had the opportunity to visit the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge, where they were able to study historic artifacts, learn about the burning of the building and ghostly legends, and imagine their own future as Louisiana leaders!

Scholars in Mr. Pullen’s world history class at East Feliciana High School engaged in deep thinking as they completed their midterm exam covering topics such as the impact of imperialism on the world. Identifying and meeting student needs through the use of high quality assessment systems is a priority of East Feliciana Public Schools' strategic plan. We look forward to welcoming back students tomorrow (Thursday, January 5) for our second semester!

Students at JES participated in a learning experience with Barn Hill Preserve and Kids Saving the Rainforest. They met several animals that contribute to the diversity of their ecosystem and learned about the importance of the rainforest and the steps they can take to protect it.

Congratulations to the members of our East Feliciana High School Tigers football team who have earned special recognition for their play this season. Special congratulations to Mills Dawson, Chandler Wilson, and Landon Wilson for their victory with the Eagles at the Red Stick Bowl. Chandler grabbed a key interception, Landon was recognized as the outstanding defensive back for the Eagles, and Mills was recognized as the outstanding quarterback/wide receiver for the Eagles.

Introducing our new app. The Louisiana Reads! Mobile App -  a parent resource platform to bridge the gap between at-home learning and classroom instruction. The app was designed with parents in mind so they feel confident being active in their child's literacy journey. The app's current age group focus is birth - 9 years of age with plans to expand in the future. You can visit https://www.lareads.org or download Louisiana Reads! from your play store. The Center for Literacy and Learning is excited to announce its new texting service "The Literacy Lightbulb." This service will provide parents with literacy tips and activities that can be done at home. To start receiving your monthly interactive literacy tips, text the word LAREADS to 833-460-0546.

Students at Clinton Elementary School and Jackson Elementary School were recently treated to a magic show from DEMCO entitled "Making Accidents Disappear." The show covers the many hazards that can occur if electricity is not used properly as well as tips for safe electricity usage. Building partnerships with community institutions like DEMCO is a priority of East Feliciana Public Schools' strategic plan.

To develop students as writers, East Feliciana Public Schools utilize components of The Writing Revolution, which helps students grow from writing strong sentences to writing strong compositions by embedding the development of specific writing skills into curricula across all content areas and grade levels.
